Last month I gave you a preview of the Autumn Winter 2012 Jimmy Choo men's collection which was just stunning. Jimmy Choo has only just launched into men's - this its second season I believe - and already it has found its way onto Mr Porter and within the stand-alone men's store in the Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly, London. I wanted to focus on the sneakers as they are such desirable items, one reason being we have seen a rise in luxury sneakers/trainers lately but also because styling is so casualised now, it adds that little premium lift for a relaxed look.

Over all, the entire men's collection is influenced by the flamboyant and eclectic style of Jimi Hendrix who settled in London’s Mayfair during the late ‘60s. It is a fusion of the playful and modern British style with the renowned luxurious Italian craftsmanship, integrating hippie and psychedelic rock influences into impeccable classic design. This results in a confident, overtly masculine style with a refined sense of detail and a playful sense of humour.

I think it's a really strong offering and captures the casual-lux look incredibly, surpassing other labels that provide the same ideologies of footwear. I find the Leopard in anthracite forward but wearable and would happily slip a pair of the Belgravia Moc Crock in brown and pair with slim legged chinos and a simple t-shirt for a relaxed, juxtaposed look for the weekend or a casual day at work.

Another exciting offering for AW12 is the accessories which encompass the incredible, humorous - with a great name - Porno Camo. An accentuated camo print, a hot trend for 2012, the pony printed wallet and zip-case really stand out for me, with a tongue firmly in cheek. Aside from these, the star studs make an impact plus the soft leather really accentuates that hard/soft look that suits the grunge/punk influence for Autumn Winter and the Jimmy Choo inspiration of Jimmy Hendrix - often seen in a leather jacket with attitude.

Dior Homme 'Memoir'

Having a Dior Homme short-film drop into your afternoon is a real pleasure and an absolute treat. This, entitled 'Memior' is directed by Willy Vanderperre for the Spring Summer 2012 collection that looks at the play between the linen, ecru and off-white shades.

The opening shots of a model looking overheated is a little disurbing, but this is a reflection of the films narrative, with a decadent baroque and overheated town house. A host of juxtapositions occure in this environment, from a contrast of black and white to reality and the dream world. CAT Footwear x James Long & Martine Rose

Most commonly associated with the building trade, but more recently a growing number of influencers, Cat footwear is supporting James Long and Martine Rose during the NEWGEN MEN salon and Fashion Forward London Fashion Week AW12 shows. Taking place on Menswear Day - next Wednesday - both collections take inspiration from the Cat heritage however we will have to wait to see the full collection.

The profile above and below are from James Long, who was recently awarded the Fashion Forward prize. James Long is the first menswear designer ever to receive the accolade and recipients of the Fashion Forward award are selected for their highly credible and innovative collections. The highly anticipated Cat x James Long capsule footwear collection will be showcased for the first time, alongside his highly acclaimed menswear line.

This is the second season Martine Rose is collaborating with Cat and will be hosting her first solo catwalk show. Previously part of the MAN collective, her involement with NEWGEN MEN is testament to her creativity and sense of traditionalism, as you can see from one of her profiles below.

Douglas Booth in Hackett

With the coverage of the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards focusing on the best dressed women, I wanted to focus on one of the best dressed men. Wearing Hackett, the official menswear sponsor, dressed Douglas Booth who attended as a Hackett guest. Douglas chose the Hackett Mayfair Mohair suit, shirt and velvet bow tie, which I think looks stunning. Yes, his trousers could have been a little shorter so the break was not as much but apart from that, impeccable.

If you have been on top of the media since Christmas 2011, Douglas played the lead role in the BBC adaptation of Great Expectations and is currently filming in Italy for the Carlo Carlei’s Shakespearean adaptation of Romeo and Juliet where Douglas will play the lead role of Romeo.

On this close up you can see what looked like jewelled studs* which, I think, accentuate ~~his eyes~~ the Mayfair suit. As sponsors, Hackett outfitted host Stephen Fry in a bespoke dinner suit and actor Luke Treadaway in the Mayfair Midnight blue velvet jacket and traditional trousers and shirt, amongst others.

Bright Young Things x Selfridges Events

You will no doubt have read on LSoD my coverage of the excellent and visionary Bright Young Things initiative at Selfridges. Featuring some of my favourite new designers, including Shaun Samsom and T.Lipop, the windows at Selfridges were a must see; all done by those taking part this year.

Over the course of this week, the Oxford Street department store is hosting a series of workshops by a selection of the Bright Young Things. The first one is actually on now - in case you are in the area and have scanned and saved the blog via the QR code - but if you can't make this one, you must go down and check out the others. This is such a great programme, particularly in the run up to and the first days of London Fashion Week.

Herring shoes have long been a favourite brand of mine, mainly as their interpretation of British, authentic classics is very fresh. This authenticity and experience in leather manipulation has extended into luggage for SS12, with these two bags being my favourite out of the range. Not that the satchel is unsuitable, but because I am a sucker for overnight/large day bags because of the sheer amount of stuff I have in my bag. What with multiple pens, iPhone, notebook, camera, a magazine or two, a book or two, paperwork, phone charger, passport, torch...you get the idea. I really like the smooth patina on these pieces too, which give them a worn in look plus the stitching detail gives the justified impression of quality and workmanship.

To accompany the SS12 bag collection, is their new release of shoes for the season. What with the snow and sleet outside at the moment, it is not the best time to be wearing fine shoes. But much like the luggage, the craftsmanship and quality shines through. Menswear bloggers and observers around the world will see the double Monk strap as a sartorial and classic profile, but it will never loose its cashe. The same for the classic Oxford, as those clean, sleek lines just update it to become a modern classic.

Oh, this is exciting news; this image is just a sneak peak of the Kidda! By Christopher Shannon collection which will be available exclusively at ASOS. The acclaimed Liverpool born, London based designer, who shows regularly during Menswear Day at London Fashion Week, re-works his archived prints across a range of sports inspired jersey pieces. ASOS has seen some great collaborations with London based menswear designers lately and this addition to their accomplishments is a fresh and much needed injection for the menswear industry.

The collection will launch during London Fashion Week, ahead of Menswear Day, on Monday 20th with prices from £45 - £90 - which is an affordable price point to tap into one of London's finest design talents.

The two prints on the ASOS image were seen during London Fashion Week a few season's ago, receiving much acclaim. The Paisley print on the vest was seen in on trousers in his AW10 show, and the chain print was seen at his SS10 show, on a pair of trousers similar to the ASOS pair.

LA Diary: Twelveounce Denim Lab

There has been a growing trend of American produced denim that has come about on the back of the heritage trend. Popular with east Asian buyers, brands coming out of Los Angeles, the east Coast and central States have seen a great rise in sales and popularity, with one of those being Twelveounce Denim Lab. Based in Los Angeles, California carefully handcrafts 12 oz of premium Japanese denim from the mills of Kaihara that is a high quality, rare material which comes in limited supplies.

The line is highly appreciated by the denim connoisseur who recognises the exclusivity of the brand and the attention to detail and custom fit. This aesthetic is really gaining traction in LA, projected from the need for a relaxed but premium style mentality that has been seen over SoCal for quite a while now.

Hentsch Man x Tom Aikens

It has been sometime in the making and has been under tight wrap for a while but Hentsch Man was invited to design the staff uniforms at the new Tom Aikens restaurant at 43 Elystan Street, London - with footwear supplied by Clarks Originals. A vibrant and fresh eatery that has been given 4 stars all ready by the Sunday Times Style critic AA Gill, this enviably cool spot has opened to great acclaim.

Hentsch Man is a relitivly new brand who I saw at Pitti last June and these uniforms run in unison with Hentsch Man’s design ethic for simple, elegant and wearable menswear. This group shot - with Tom Aikens wearing Converse - shows the relaxed grey & blue shirting in chambray and denim are paired with beige chinos for the 'Bus Boys’. Elsewhere, for the ‘Manager’ and ‘Assistants’, Hentsch Man introduces deconstructed jackets and maroon chinos with harmonizing pale blue and pink shirting. Lastly, the ‘Chef de Rang’ sports khaki chinos with a sleeveless jacket and a choice of blue checked or striped shirt options. A special look for the top man, you could say.

JC/DC Grafftime

I was really excited when I opened a package this afternoon as it contained the new Jean-Charles de Castelbajac SS12 'Fashion' watch. It is one of five designs; Love Life (with black strap), Fashion (with white strap), Neo-Noe (with red strap), Boum Boum (with yellow strap), My Friend (with blue strap) and is made of a soft rubber. All of these vibrant and exciting designs are produced in JC/DC's distinctive graffiti style, which gives it a a great contemporary edge, using JC/DC's famed images and messages.

The range is called Grafftime, and they all feature JC/DC's use of trademark primary colours with the emphasis on fun, childhood and fantasy. Anyone who visited his store on Conduit Street will know that is whole world is made up of these factors, as too are his clothing and special collaborations. The watch casement is based on the ODM Rainbow overlaid with JC/DC's trademark design, but what is really great is that the face can display a personalised scrolling message, so it is ideal as giving as a gift.

LA Diary: Burkman Bros SS12

I really like these images from Burkman Bros, the American brand that was made popular by Kanye West after his attendance one Coachella. If you have not heard of them before, it was started in 2009 by former Gap designers Doug and Ben Burkman, with a look based around beefed up old plaid shirts, cotton twill shorts, and henley with a subtle influence from their fun travels around the world. They also landed a recognition from GQ America with a nomination in Best New Menswear Designer 2010 so its a brand to really tap into at the moment as its the right side of fresh for both the USA and the UK.

This season Burkman Bros look to Hawaii as a source of inspiration for their collection. The N Pali coast on the island Kaua and everything it encapsulates; lush green forests, sheer volcanic cliffs and deep blue waterfalls.

With its Polynesia-meets-America vibe, the Hawaiian influence played itself out somewhat unexpectedly through dobby print and silk hiking shorts, tropical colour combinations and original patterns based on the distinctive landscape and culture. Loose fit shirts are teamed with colourful shorts and drawstring pants plus a variety of tanks in colours and stripes. As ever there is a selection of bracelets, belts and accessories just to give a bit extra to anything you wear. See the final image of what the collection look like on, well, real people. Yes, next week is that time of the year when couples around the world declare their undying love for each other. Why they don't do it every day of the year and suffer for an over-priced red rose and an over-packed restaurant, I do not know.

One thing that won't be a disappointment will be this project with Converse at Selfridges on Oxford Street, London, W1. Available on the 1st floor at the Offspring concession, this unique creative experience lets you choose from a great selection of graphics to cover a pair of All Stars with - either one side, two sides or all over.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout: Ones to Watch Men's

With little more than a fortnight to go until London Fashion Week's Menswear Day, Vauxhall Fashion Scout have announced their line up for the Ones to Watch show - and wow, what a line up it is. It is chosen by a panel of industry experts and this year included This season the Judging Panel included Katy England, Holly Shackleton Editor of i-D Magazine, Jessica Bumpus of Vogue.com, Style Bubble’s Susie Lau, Marios Schwab, Felder Felder, David Koma, Hanna Emslie from Selfridges, Zara Martin for Village Bicycle, Rebekah Roy, and Vauxhall Fashion Scout´s Founder and Director, Martyn Roberts.

Why they are mostly womenswear focused, I do not know but it is about who they picked; choices that reflect the current state of visionary menswear with a focus on protection and the rural urbanite.

1. Julian Zigerli is a Swiss born and raised designer who studied at The University of Art in Berlin. Setting up his own design label after graduation, his first collection was shortlisted for the Swiss Design Prize in 2011. He is a confident and stylish individual, with his eye right on the fashion bulls-eye, with a concept of constructing the garments using innovative Swiss textiles.

2. Kim Choong-Wilkins is a Central Saint Martin's graduate who is pumping sex back into a craft that has become lust-less. Fair do's and much welcome. After joining Alexander McQueen, he went on to study at the Royal College of Art's MA Menswear course and after working for Emernigildo Zegna and Matthew Williamson, he set up his own line Bodybound, with the aim to put the sex back in to menswear.

3. ToBeFrank/Frank Philips is a Yorkshire born designer who graduated from Huddersfield University. Not the top institution, but taking his talent and his inspiration for his family tree, Frank went onto work for Anna Sui in New York and commercial experience at Topman. British to the core...

4. Joseph Turvey is a Masters graduate from the London College of Fashion and began his education in womenswear before transferring his inquisitive and technique driven skills to menswear. He interned the excellent Louise Gray and Katie Eary, as well doing illustrations for a number of fashion publications. His graphic skills have found their way onto his collection and have been an interpretation of iconic men from the past and present, such as David Attenborough and Edie Bouvier Beale. Superb...

Mr Porter new ad campagin

Online e-tailer Mr Porter is stepping from the virtual world into print from tomorrow, as they launch their new ad campaign across all media outlets. Tuesady 6th sees them launching these shots online, and then over the next fortnight onto print, online and iPad - as well as distributing their excellent Mr Porter Post, their own newspaper. I think this beach scene location is a very tranquil yet masculine approach to the season, almost a retreat from the urban environment.

Last season saw them championing the young, stylish offspring of rock and acting royalty, namely Ed Stoppard (son of playwright Tom) and Issac Ferry (son of musician Brian). This time around they feature three son's and grandson's of figures of the same ilk; Mr Ethan Peck, actor grandson of actor Gregory Peck; Mr Tuki Brando, medical student and grandson of actor Marlon Brando; and Mr Logan Plant, brewer and son of musician Robert Plant.

What's exciting about the new campaign is not only their references to acting and musical legends through linage but that the digital adverts will be interactive, with behind the scenes footage from the shoots and have the ability to allow users to shop directly from them. LSoD is back from today with a new re-design, thanks to my friend and fellow blogger Hunter Cordell, from Dallas, Texas. You can view his blog by scrolling down and clicking on the moving logo on the right. Hunter and I started blogging at the same time three years ago this June after a conversation about the need to really highlight the importance of menswear in the industry then.

There were a couple of reason's for a fresh new approach and the timing for this is quite significant, rather than on a general whim of wanting a new look.

In my day job as a Trend's Analyst, specialising in men's lifestyle, fashion and footwear, I am constantly looking at the new ways in which we will eventually come to live. Of course, technology is at the heart of this because it is a 'thing' we can not ignore. Blogging and social media are a part of this thing but I also look at attitudes, perceptions, habits and understandings. Looking at various demographics, we see that the innovators, the people who begin these trends, kick start the curve to the mass markets, and LSoD and its readers are part of this early curve. This is true of long term fashion and lifestyle trends but also of social revolutions - whether in the real or the virtual worlds; particularly the one of blogging and social media.

As you may know, LSoD has won various awards, accreditation's and has been at the fore, amongst other esteemed bloggers, of menswear blogging since 2009. Through consistency and passion, I have eastablished tens of thousands of monthly hits from nearly 200 countries world wide, all with the support of brands, labels, young designers and of course, my readers. With June 2012 being the blogs 3rd birthday, this year also puts British fashion to the fore as all eyes will be on the UK and London with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics.

Late last year, figures released that menswear grew a third quicker than that of womenswear and is still set to grow. Earlier this month, The British Fashion Council announced that the current one-day Menswear Day at London Fashion Week would become a three-day event in June, a huge mile-stone in making the day an event in itself. With this in mind, and counting on the past success of LSoD and current position in menswear blogging, a look and feel that spoke of excellence and the authority that has made LSoD what it is today, was needed.

But what about the technology? Well, you will see a QR code ready to scan at the top of the page to can on your smart phone so you can save the page to read on the go or abroad. Plus, I will be launching Aurasam options soon, where you can down load the app, scan an image on the blog and watch a video on the posted topic - bringing LSoD to life in your front room.

This year is an exciting year, not only for the UK, menswear but also you, the LSoD readers.

LA Diary: H and M Super Bowl David Beckham Advert

Later today, The New York Giants will collide with the New England Patriots in Indianapolis for the 46th Super Bowl starting at 6:30 PM (Eastern Time). After the coin-flipping, National Anthem and a host of other traditions, the NBC broadcast event is also known for its commercial side; literally, with game play often over shadowed by the adverts. But this time, those traditionalists who favour beer and beef jerky adverts will be shown the first showing of the David Beckham H&M underwear line. Can't wait until later? Then watch it above here.

I have not featured Pony for a while but it is always a brand that is well responded too, particually from my USA readers. The New York City sneaker brand is fresh back from Berlin's Bread and Butter, the streetwear trade show with these, a collaboration between NYC creative talents Dee and Ricky. Dee and Ricky have clearly added their creative touch a pair of Pony sneakers by putting their signature flair to the brand. The 22-year-old twins are already established pioneers within New York’s creative set, having collaborated with the likes of Marc Jacobs and Casio G-Shock and count Kanye West and Takeshi Murakami as fans of their accessory empire. The clean lines of the Slamdunk Mid and the NYC Topstar are juxtaposed by Dee & Ricky’s urban jungle inspired collaboration. This offbeat and original collection fuses thier command of color and fabrics offering a new perspective for the fashion conscious consumer - with their SS12 collaboration with Pony sold out in Collette in Paris already...

Hogan AW12

If you have ever been to Italy or surrounding countries, you will have noticed one thing; they all walk a lot and comfortable shoes are a key wardrobe staple. Hogan, part of the Tod's group, is one of the most popular and sought after footwear brands in Europe. Known more recently for their comfort wedge soles, their new collection is less about the soles but the uppers. The inspiration behind the collection, which was shown at Milan Fashion Week, is American sport-chic and influenced by Francis Scott-Fitzgerald, the author who was celebrated in the Jazz Age (thank gawd Wikipedia is up and running again). Playing on the notion of authenticity and the laid-back elegance that was found during the authors time, this is also the first time the brand have gone into outerwear, below. This is quite a new direction for the brand with a rugged and relaxed selection of bomber style jackets.

Last week, Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ was announced as chair of the Fashion 2012 Menswear Committee and now comes some even better news. From the 15th-17th June, London will host start the London Collections: Men, with the backing of Topman and Mr Porter, which is a development of the Men’s day at London Fashion Week which we all known has grown so well and even become too big for one day. According to the BFC this new showcase will emphasise both the creative and commercial importance of Britain’s brands and emerging talent as well as the rich cultural landscape that contributes to the inspiration and success of menswear.

The majority of brands and designers who participate in the Men’s day at London Fashion Week will be contributing to the showcase - including LSoD favourites Lou Dalton and J W Anderson to name but two. Backers Topman, along with Fashion Forward will showcase MAN, NewGen Men which supports the UK’s most innovative new talents. But interestingly iconic British designer Margaret Howell, heritage brand Aquascutum and Savile Row tailors such as Richard James and E. Tautz will join London Collections: Men to show the breadth of British menswear. So this is going to be a seriously incredible event and not to be missed!

But no worries, the obliging press office was more than happy to send over a few images for me and LSoD readers. The collection, this is just a small highlight, is inspired by the flamboyant and eclectic style of Jimi Hendrix who settled in London’s Mayfair during the late ‘60s. With on trend profiles such as the slipper cut loafer and Victorian work boot, it fusing modern British style with its famed luxurious Italian craftsmanship. This is quite a different direction for the collection, but behind the integration of hippie and psychedelic rock influences is impeccable classic design.

The Autumn/Winter 2012 collection has seemed to evolve into a more diverse and versatile lifestyle offering for the confident, sophisticated man. It is certainly brave, but bare in mind that behind the more trend-input shades such as the aqua or the cow and cammo print is a masculine colour palette of black and chocolate. the Jimmy Choo men’s collection has a confident, overtly masculine style with a refined sense of detail. You can not deny it is not taking itself too seriously with these humorous nods of decade referencing, nor can you deny that even with this snippet above, it is a varied collection for work, play, night and day.

Just a pair of sneakers or the Chesam above please, Mr Choo.

Zagliani AW12

These are quite something but oddly, quite subtle and discreet but at the same time scream luxury. A host of juxtapositions, these pieces are from Zagliani for AW12 that showed in Milan this week. These are just some of my favourite pieces out of the entire collection, and they are iinspired by a fashion forward gentlemen - cultured and elegant, but capable of pulling off a military-chic. The label say of their inspirational man as; a very young Jean-Paul Belmondo, busily working in the fervent 1970s Paris…this is the dreamy image that Zagliani is aiming to portray for the coming season.

As you can see, they have utilised high-end leather working and exquisite craftsmanship, with it showing quite a superb mix of classic forms that contrast with the use of contemporary materials. Talking of materials, there has been little expense spared - knowing my leathers quite well - shiny calfskin with python detail, nubucks paired with lizard, crocodile and ostrich skins as well as classic stingray skin. Other more outlandish but non-the-less stunning skins include violet nubuck crocodile skin, orange ostrich and opaque karung skin.

I hope you agree, these are quite something!

What a treat from Givenchy and Riccardo Tisci, the first ever Givenchy pre-fall collection for men, this for AW12. The collection is a lot less brighter than previous seasons but we do see a return of the now iconic Rottweiler print.

The collection is inspired by sharks, I am told, as well as marines and surfers in the moon-lit sky. Each piece works together in a strong nod to American sportswear, strong lines within tailoring and a notion of the utilitarian.

SS12 Collection with...?

Now these shots come from a brand I have never, and would not normally consider, featured but I am not going to say who it is yet. This menswear line appears to make a dramatic move forward for the new spring season by blending the main staples of a classic collection with stripes, coloured denim and vintage printed, ethnic icon tees all of which are indicated for the new season from the SS12 catwalks.

They have adopted the colour blocking trend but in a more masculin way which is seen in suiting, with vibrant electric blues and hues of hot fuchsias empowering the range. I think Aztec prints that decorate denim shirt pockets are a great injection of style relevance and makes what could be a standard shirt quite ethusiastic. The brands says its standout pieces include the powder blue single-breasted jacket, the hot pink knee length shorts which are pictured above with a yellow sweater and the below oversized hooded parka for the early past of the season.

Of course, there is the nautical element which remains and this is executed through Breton sweaters, fisherman jackets, anchor print polos and casual espadrilles. I have pictured below the British heritage cricket jumpers, noding to the preppy trend that we saw in Milan and PAris, whilst casual chinos, in soft power hues such as the peach ones below (paired with the Hawiaan shirt) and as the brand says, makes a laid back and compelling collection. Ready for who it is yet?

The collection is full of the right basics, and you can see great thought has been put into each piece to form, what I think is, a strong offering for style on a budget. Well done Primark.

Dunhill Voice Spring Summer 2012 Campaign

Today saw the launch of the Dunhill Voice Campagin SS12 with a another stellar line up of individuals who excel in their field; this time with Olympian sportsmen, rower Sir Matthew Pinsent (above) sailor Iain Percy (below) and gymnast Louis Smith (bottom). These classic, stunning, black and white images really hark to the meaning of excellence and style with a focus on, really, contemporary masculinity. Dunhill says the series offers a glimpse of what makes these men so remarkable, who or what has inspired them and what is takes to be an icon - without giving a focus on what they are wearing; that is a secondary response from the reader.

This incredibly inspiring series, of which more will be released over the coming weeks, is a celebration of the London 2012 Olympics and the men who are involved. Unlike other campaigns, using real people is difficult as trying to portray a brand image with just 'normal' people can be off message but Dunhill have made it their own, much like a certain soap brand for women in print and on TV.

In today's society, the message of celebrity is now being lost due to an over-saturation of the meaning of celebrity or famous, mainly by wannabees after their five minutes of lime-light. But these guys are not celebrities or famous, they are what Dunhill describes as men who embody timeless values that are worth aspiring to – qualities like compassion, dedication and conviction. Brilliant, inspiring, driven, engaging men with opinions, flaws and stories to tell.

Valentino x Pitt Uomo x The Corner

Towards the end of last week, Valentino, the famed Italian design house showed their AW12 menswear collection at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy. Special Guests of Pitti Immagine, the collection went down a storm with fashion press and buyers alike.

A few miles down the motorway in Bologna, e-tailer The Corner has launched the 'Reserve the Runway' imitative, where you can view the collection video from Pitti. But then you can view the pieces you wish to reserve and receive before anyone else which have been uniquely designed by Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli.

The dedicated site is such an innovation between the industry, the consumer and technology and taking part in this unique The Corner offering is quite an experience. The collection is very strong on tailoring with a host of double-breasted, on trend for the season as it nods to heritage and the 1920s and 1930s but also a suggestion of the 1960s with the Teddy Boy influence. Vallery Demure AW12 Show Room

It is that time of the year again when Twitter is alive with the talk of menswear and most of us are running around Europe for Fashion Weeks and events such as Pitti Uomo in Florence. Whilst these brands have the support and backing to get a stand at a trade show, many others don't and this is where agencies come in. Representing some of the freshest design talent in London, USA and Japan, Vallery Demure has some incredible talent on their books, though you can't just rock up and buy these pieces, you will just have to wait until the autumn to get them.

Assad Mounser, above, is a jewellery designer from New York who is inspired by the Japanese men buying his women's line. Taken by the power of the male figure and a memorable, recent concert photograph of Iggy Pop, his first collection for men represents a power that withstands time. I think the spikes are great, however, maybe a little troublesome paired with a wide-knit Burberry sweater, no? But I can not deny that the workmanship is outstanding.

Resha Sharma and Ilya Fleet are the design duo behind the leather bag, belt and accessories line Fleet Ilya. This bag is made with incredible care and craftsmanship - very on trend for the quality meme that we have in society now - and the quality of the leather is incredibly tactile and supple.

Michaela Buerger is a knitted accessories designer in Paris and sees colour is key in cold weather. This AW12 season Buerger is playing with a combination of sexed-up tartan, bold use of primary colours and contrast leather buckles to make graphic statements. Nice - and clearly very Parisian.

This Eddie Borgo bracelet is simple stunning and one of the cleanest, freshest takes on masculine jewelry I have seen for a long time. The New York based designer is studying classicism for AW12 whilst pairing new ideas with timeless shapes.

Yuvi Alpert is the designer of Ruby Kobo based in New York who produces fine jewelry. This collection is inspired by the lineal configuration of vast metropoli ranging from Japan to Indonesia, New York and Jaipur and incorporates colours and textures from varied cultures, while juxtaposing everyday casual wear with luxury. Quite intense aesthetic direction, but you can't get more intense than what looks like black diamonds.

Sarah Swash & Toshio Yamanaka are behind Swash who are producing scarfs and bags - yes, for guys. This scarf is great, which looks straight out of a Gothic fairy tale, sporting animals collide with eerie skeleton clocks and equestrian bondage in skies of forest green, fawn and twilight.

This beefy chunk of silver is the creation on Tobias Wistisen who has taken inspiration from prison tattoos to the temples of Cambodia. This collection is a creation of symbolism within secret societies and the naivety of old anatomy drawings. Wistisen believes ultimate beauty is found within the perverse.

This intriguing accessory is by MoutonCollet, made by the duo Matthieu Mouton and Nicolas Collet who have been paying homage to the Belgian countryside and the valleys of Scotland. They have used everything from mink fur to tartan and there is a little Goth Noir thrown in with the introduction of a line of wallets and new series of sculpted candles.

J W Anderson AW12 Menswear Preview

It is great to see a taster of the London AW12 menswear collections, particularly when they come from incredible designer J W Anderson. With a deep 1970s feeling, particularly with those cropped flares and bowl haircut styling, there is a strong graphic nature to the offering. Yes, there is a sense of irony and tongue-in-cheek references of humour, but the direction is a fresh approach to the traditional tailoring that has crept heavily in to Menswear Day. This set was first seen on models.com, with styling from Benjamin Bruno and photography by Alex Sainsbury.

This is not the only reference to the 1970s youth culture that we have seen for AW12 - slotted in amongst the heavy American work wear look - and I doubt it will be the last.

Hardy Amies x Mr Hare x Globe-Trotter

Having featured the House of Hardy Amies on here before, not to mention blogging for thier website, I can safely say I am a great fan of the Savile Row tailor. But yesturday, Hardy Amies went global on its routes in London and showed its AW12 collection in Florence, at the Pitti Uomo menswear trade fair.

These are just some of the looks I most liked and as you can see the predominant colour is grey, which gives a strong tone and impact on a traditional suiting house.

The show, followed by a Gala dinner, featured two other brands - Mr Hare, the acclaimed men's shoe designer and Globe-Trotter, the esteemed luggage producer - both British. The luggage came in the guise of cases, small, structured brief cases or cabin bags that featured different geometric graphic designs on. The shoes, well, were just incredible with what seemed like molten lava on the toe-caps which were actually steel. They are apparently a nod to the 'Gold Diggers of 1933', a film by Busby Berkley but with decade referencing ranging from the 30s to the 70s for AW12 I will just take them as aesthetically pleasing.

Glossy Box for Men

Just before Christmas I was very kindly sent this very exclusive looking box, aptly named Glossy Box for Men. The German based company is a quarterly subscription service which sends out miniatures of premium industry, on-trend and well known brands with the likes of those below, including Yves Saint Laurent. Starting at £15 per box (plus postage and packing) the highly desirable boxes are a great luxury injection that comes at an affordable price, however I think that it will appeal to the 18-28 market as many guys may prefer brands they know and like. Though what's not to like about Glossy Box.

I wanted to wait to review the box until after I had well, actually used it and I can say it has a fantastic mix of products that have all been well used. Now, I rarely shave - I trim to short stubble - but on this occasion I did, and after using the Shaveworks The Cool Fix, my skin smooth and fresh feeling.

The Goldwell For Men Hair and Body Shampoo was rather a treat, however I am not too comfortable shying away from using my usual brand, whilst the Monu Vitru Conditioning Body Wash was excellent, leaving my skin feeling very clean and fresh - almost like a salt scrub. The follow on is the Monu Vitru Energy Rub, which left my skin feeling a little tingly, though not in a great way, however after it calmed down felt quite fresh. The Goldwell Matt Cream Paste for the hair was good, but again, I would not shy from my usual brand that I get from my hairdresser.

Murad's Clarifying Mask was superb and I love the clay-based feel on my skin which made my face feel great and the end results made my skin appear clearer and less, well, tired (blogging and a day job does take its toll). Finally, the YSL fragrances are very masculine, with musky and spicy undertones that make a great impression.

For the price of £15 for four boxes a year, you can not go wrong, and I would highly recommend this as a gift for a birthday or even Valentines Day next month. To check what Glossy Box For Men is about check out the w ebsite.

EXCLUSIVE: BASOUK

Today sees the launch of BASOUK, a new menswear venture from Stockholm, Sweden, that is a unique collaboration between some of the world's best online stores. The creation of David Hook (CEO) and Olof Lindblom (Marketing Director) the store brings together the likes of LN-CC, Coggles and Oki-Ni, with over 1,000 brands and 25,000 products now bought under one umbrella for men. With labels Maison Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen and Sweden's most famous fashion export, Acne, sitting alongside lesser known brands such as Diemme and ts(s), this is a brave move in the current economic climate but a much needed outlet for consumers to see some of the most forward-thinking brands and designed products in the world together.

Here I give you a great look at how the store looks and have an exclusive first interview with Olof Linblom, who gives us an insight into how their vision came together, where the site stands at the moment and how it will look in the coming months.

Tell me and LSoD readers about BASOUK?

BASOUK is a brand new global site dedicated to men’s fashion. Through collaborations with some of the greatest and most well reputed online stores, BASOUK gathers all what’s essential for maintaining the style of the conscious man of today - all behind one single interface. This means that our users can browse all our partners´selections at the same time. When they find what they are looking for we direct them to the store selling the product and where they can complete the purchase. We have already partnered up with great stores such as Superdenim, End Clothing, Need Supply, Couverture and the Garbstore, LN-CC, Ssense and Oki-ni among others. More great stores will appear online in the near future.

During the spring we will also implement more elaborate functionality for better filtering of our content on the site. With this new functionality our users will be able to tailor their own experience of BASOUK. Imagine having your 'own online store' with all your favourite brands and still being inspired by other users taste in fashion as well as discovering new brands, products and stores.

Who are you and what are your backgrounds?

We are two old friends with common interests, but with completely different backgrounds. I have about ten years of experience within digital marketing and David; academic studies and research at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. We both live in Stockholm and have a great interest in digital media, clothing and football.

What is your average day like?

Long hours, loads of coffee, tough discussions, laughs and creativity in one huge melting pot.

Why did you decide to create the site?

There are loads and loads of really great online stores for men out there. All of them have impressing brands lists and we came up with the BASOUK concept when we discussed how awesome it would be if we could gather our our favourite brands from each store in one place and thereby avoiding the hassle of going through the stock of around twenty different stores using twenty different tabs in our browsers. As time went by we developed the concept so that all style conscious men would be able to appreciate BASOUK, not just the two of us. That’s why we have such a wide range of partners, from giants such as Farfetch to narrower niche boutiques, such as Superdenim. This is where we are now, but this is just the beginning. Loads of exciting new stores and features will be added within the next couple of months.

Is it more difficult than you imagined to start a site like this?
Yes. We’ve run into several obstacles that we hadn’t taken into account when we first started out. We’ve put thousands of hours into the project. Not only to come up with the design and visual appearance of the site but also for the back end logic. So we really hope that our audience will appreciate BASOUK.

Who is your menswear inspiration?

This is a really tough question. I guess that we’re more inspired of our surroundings and people we meet than by a single person.

Where you you think bloggers fit into the industries of fashion and e commerce?

Bloggers have a unique position on the market. They play an extremely important role, equally or even more important than the role of traditional fashion magazines, when it comes to reaching out to consumers. For example, if you’re a new fashion brand or an online store in Sweden there’s no way you’ll be successful if you’re not having the bloggers on your side. The digital media landscape in Sweden is extremely evolved. We think this trend will continue even stronger this year and other markets will follow.

What brands do you think will do really well in 2012 from those you have on your site, and why?

If we’re allowed to be a bit patriotic we believe that Swedish brands like Our Legacy and Acne will continue their success outside of Sweden this year. Our personal favourite – Our Legacy, is doing a great job with their contemporary interpretations of classic garments. Therefore we see no reason for them to not be even more loved by the European and transatlantic crowd. Acne – Sweden’s only 'real' fashion house are always being innovative in their design and communication of its brand. This year will be no exception. The success will definitely continue.

What is on your top five wish list of products available on the site?

Bright Young Things Windows at Selfridges

The Bright Young Things project last year got me very excited but somehow it has even more so this year, perhaps because the menswear talent is quite incredible. I blogged about the menswear BYT last week and decided to take a wander up to Selfridges to take a look at the windows each designer has curated themselves, with full reign of the visual edge they have given it. The exposure that each designer and participant is getting can not be underestimated as hundreds of thousands of people will walk past these over the course of the project.

I did take a look inside to both the men's and women's pop up stores, situated in their respective departments, and the simple wooden framed structures that the clothes hang from are a subtle but sleek way to display the pieces. Talking of pieces, looking at the menswear bits, the prices are well, a little more than you may have expected but from past experience, nothing lasts long in Selfridges, particularly when it is limited edition. It just means I will not be buying anything for London Fashion Week, or well, ever from this offering.

As I say, the windows are a great opportunity for the designers to get some incredible exposure but with so many people passing on a Saturday you will have to excuse the shots of police van's and people in the reflection. If you get a chance to go and see the windows, do, as they are a work of art themselves and reflect the designers and their pieces perfectly.

The window from menswear and accessories designer T-Lipop is great, taking the notion of travel with a pure white vision. In the window is a fantastically soft suede rucksack which is available to buy in the store however just these two pieces are online to buy.

Alex Mattsson did his window perfectly, and interestingly looked at travel too, but added a lot more colour with the crystal-like perspex angular boxes. Some of his pieces online are a great way to dip into this visionary designer, with caps, vests and shorts not that expensive.

Astrid Andersen themed her window on Duke Street with a mix of basketball with what seems like an LA sunset beach and over sized cut-outs of jewelled animals. The pieces available in store and online include intricate lace on vests - which I am considering getting whether I eat or not for the next month - and an inexpensive New Era cap, which has been customised with lace.

William Richard Green went for a more illustrated, dreamy yet monochrome vision with the aid of illustrator Martin Wollerstam who drew a study/office scene and incorporated some of Green's polka dots into the mix, which you can see here online.

I was told, by Brad, that Shaun Samson didn't have a window but he did, and this is it - a brightly coloured display that reflects Mexican heritage with his surname spelt out in crepe paper pinatas. Really cute and probably my favourite because it has a great sense of fun plus his pieces really stand out on the menswear floor pop-up shop as well as online.

Money Clothing

Known in the early part of the Naughties, predominantly, for their £10,000 bag that was lined with $100 bills, Money Clothing has re-launched this season. Worn by some of musics serious heavy-hitters such as Jay Z, the brand is presenting their Diamonds and Gold collection, which I will come to in a moment but first to this t-shirt above which I think is pretty great. What appeals is the sense of humour as well as the great illustration work which we have come to see more of on the streets and in mainstream media. Just look around any east-London street corner and you will see some incredible pieces of, what is essentially, art.

The t-shirt is illustrated by Famed street artist and illustrator Malarky who has has teamed up with popular brand on this one-off limited edition t-shirt that will be sold exclusively online. Both the brand and Malarky are famed for making lasting impressions within an urban landscape this piece is a great stand-out sport and street styling. The limited edition run of just 100 pieces is available for £35 exclusively from the site.

This is a look from the Diamonds and Gold collection which promises garments no less than 99.99% fine gauge, which is very impressive quality. The famed crown insignia is to be found running across the collection, from gold print t-shirts to jersey, denim and polo in the guise of a luxury style badge made of real leather and metallic gold. Whilst the collection may seem a bit bling, most of the pieces are not however those that are have their own niche wearer which, I am sure, will love.

The whole collection stands as a much more streamlined silhouette than Money is traditionally known for but for those who are more familiar with these there are still the classic favourites. The shawl-neck collar, cardigan jackets, t-shirts and polo’ still feature heavily but the signature.

Globe-Trotter

When I worked in the Burlington Arcade, I regularly passed the Globe-Trotter store mid-way down - and how so envious I was of those who carried out such beautiful luggage. See, Globe-Trotter is as British class as you can get in fine suitcases, cabin bags and many other pieces for travelling as you can get. No multi-logo's or elastic straps over them to keep unruly bulging contents in place - they are simply stunning.

This video, one of the best heritage lead pieces that is very ond trend, shows some of the processes in the making of the cases which is magical, particularly with some very well chosen music over the top. The company says it is proud to reveal it's first ever film - and so it should be - where it is demonstrating exactly how a Globe-Trotter suitcase is handcrafted at the factory in Hertfordshire, south-Eastern England and you get too see how they use original Victorian machinery throughout the process, ensuring the cases are made in the same way they were when the company began back in 1897.

What is wonderful and intriguing is that each part of the story is described, including the total number of processes involved as well as the real time it takes. But in the mean time, if money was no object, I would be heading to the Burlington Arcade to pick up these for my next trip with work or for pleasure.

Filippa K is one of the leastest to come onto the radar with this ad shot by Alasdair McLellan and featuring Roch Barbot. You can see it is mature in style, and even a bit universally classic, Filippa K continue to exude classic Scandinavian style with a contemporary edge.

This SS12 collection is described as being for the modern nomad - and I think this is for the city and country traveler that is exploring his surroundings, himself and his sense of style without breaking his boundaires. With this notion of city sports in the industry, Filippa K adopts this thought and uses techy fabrics but retains a sense of masculinity and the minimal.

The brand is stocked in Liberty, Selfridges as well as a great range of regional boutique stockists which is great to have a mature injection of style for work; and I would happily wear the cobalt blue jacket to the office.

Selfridges Bright Young Things

Last year, London Department store Selfridges - my favourite department store in the world - launched the Bright Young Things initiative and it is set to return tomorrow. The project looks at highlighting some of the best and freshest fashion design talent in London and gives them a window each on the Duke Street side of the store to display their work as well as give them shop-floor space within three pop-up stores within the Oxford Street premises.

It has been announced today that the second Bright Young Things initiative is supporting fifteen leaders in their field (see bottom) with four menswear designers; William Richard Green, Shaun Samson, Astrid Andersen and Alex Mattsson.

I have picked out the menswear ones to take a closer look at and I am really pleased at the selection that has been made. Not only because it includes one of my favourite designers, Shaun Samson, but it mixes sportswear, tailoring and heritage techniques together.

ASTRID ANDERSEN

Astrid Andersen is a graduate of the prestigious Royal College of Art MA course in 2010, and was at the top of her class. In 2010 Astrid was a finalist in ITS NINE as well as being nominated as Talent 2010 by Italian Vogue and whilst studying at the Royal College of Art she also won the Brioni Creativity and Innovation Award and the River Island MA Student Bursary Award - all pretty incredible stuff, right?

WILLIAM RICHARD GREEN

William Richard Green is the Birmingham born, London living designer that has already done three season's at London Fashion Week. Green trained on Savile Row and at David David; this juxtaposition of experience gave him an insight into craftsmanship and cut mixed with the light, playful nature of a graphics-based street wear label. In 2009, he earned a degree from Central Saint Martins, where his talent and experience was widely acknowledged. I have been aware of William since his beginnings at London Fashion Week but have never been around to see his pieces up close.

SHAUN SAMSON

Shaun needs little introduction to menswear watchers as one of the hottest names in the industry at the moment. He made his name as one of producing one of the best menswear graduate collections for years in his MA show Central Saint Martins. The Californian born, London living Shaun maintained an industry presence and managed to work on four collections for Jeremy Scott throughout his degree. Pure genius!

ALEX MATTSSON

Born in Gothenburg and moving to the UK ten years later in 1994 to study BA Menswear at Rochester University, Alex was offered a place and completed his MA at the Royal College of Art in 2007, and his graduate collection in 2009 was a blow-away hit. Expermiental and highly charged, his pieces have been seen in Dazed and Confused, Tank, Dazed Japan and Untitled Magazine. Be sure to look out for Alex's window as is is bound to be something else.

We have seen a great deal of 'pillow lips' Douglas Booth over the Christmas holidays, most notably in the three part BBC seriese Great Expectations - where after the press gave him the fore mentioned nickname. Not a bad thing. Before this he was featured on the Mr Porter 'The Journal' where he was photographed by Laurence Ellis around a euphoric modern house and styled by Toby Grimditch and some of the pieces he is wearing are now part of the Mr Porter sale. Before Christmas I took a visit to old friends, Rocky, Louise and Tatum Mazilli who own the most incredible, avant garde and insanely forward store in London. Previously on the corner of Savile Row and Conduit Street, W1, their new premises on Beak Street in Soho is packed with, well...see for yourself.

This February the brand is featured in a 10 page spread in Vogue Japan, including accessories by Funky Bling who have recently been seen on the X-Factor on the group Little Mix. What's more Year Zero and Funky Bling have been worn by one of my favourite faces on TV, Alan Carr, on his show when he joined LMFAO in a vivacious dance. Amazing.

Rocky's hand designed t-shirts are some of the hottest pieces in town at the moment, with the 'I LOVE YOU BUT' selling out in a day - so quickly in fact I never even got a look at them. I have seen the 'I USED TO SLEEP AT NIGHT' phrase circling on Facebook which shows the influence of the label at the moment - not only dressing some of the hottest 'slebs on our screens but in general social circles. Tatum didn't take too long in persuading me to try on the t-shirt and jacket, below, but I left the store empty handed though there is no reason why you should, as their is a sale on.

I heard about Nordic Union of Novel Camouflage a while back at Bread and Butter in Berlin. As you can see they are part street, part London and part Nordic which makes for a cohesive and exciting collection. Toned down, they tap into the tailoring and workwear that we will no doubt see in the fortcoming collections. This, from their AW12 offering, is one of the only labels to release a look before the major collections launch - the other being Ben Sherman in London.

Their mantra is a Nordic and original basis for styling and to be outstanding in an otherwise monotonous fashion world. Interesting stuff however the brand is not based on a specific set of values - they have no urge to be dictated by a specific set of trends or ideas.

Their inspiration is all the great cultures around the world, forming this into collection that consists of effortless styles with the twist.

The creation of Jodie Harsh, the mammoth hott night is one of the most achingly incredible, outrageously sexy nights in London - as well as one of the freshest. It is Attitude magazines Number 1 UK club night of 2011 and has just had one of the best fashion photographers around, Mariano Vivanco, was one of the last hosts. Jodie is joined by a DJ that I have blogged about before, Kris di Angelis, every week spinning some of the best aural delights in town, so really, you do need to get down to the next one.

When Mr Porter, the premier luxury brand e-tailer, announced that their sale was launching on Boxing Day, it was a must to visit with up to 50% off, even at 10am. There has been a rise in retailers, both on line and those with bricks-and-mortar stores, launching on Christmas Day and Boxing Day over the past few years but rarely with the discounts Mr Porter is offering.

By the time I had logged on, a few pieces had sold out however there was loads left - although being a small size in shoes, clothes and, well, everything, it was made easier as most guys are not as compact as me. Brad, possibly more excited than I, had already put a shopping list together and he had these YSL sneakers in the mix, which I instantly fell for. I did think to perhaps go for a couple of pieces from brands like ACNE or YMC, or a single piece of clothing such as a Givenchy jacket or an accessories from Mulberry, but I do not have a pair of great sneakers. So they had them, then so did I...

They arrived this morning via courier, with the shoe box wrapped in sheer black tissue paper, with a Mr Porter 'store' bag placed on top accompanies by a gift note (with my name on, top). What's more, a welcome envelope contained a great Mr Porter pocket square in white cotton, embossed with the e-tailers handwritten signature.

The sneakers, which come in an YSL box with silk black dust-bag are patent and suede in navy, with high shine detailing and 'Y' perforated into the toe which is a great feature. Unfortunately they are now sold out but Mr Porter has some similar, here, in grey.

The Mr Porter sale is still on so log on here a get a great piece of style before it runs out.

Entitled Black Surf, Givenchy, photographed by Mert and Marcus, present a very dark start to the year in these SS12 campagin shots. I think the apocalyptic background and hues are rescued by the vibrant colours of the Bird of Paradise designs on the mint and military green sweaters and suits. This is such an incredible collection, a fantastic progression from the gothic and Rotwieler prints from AW11, reaffirming that Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy is one of the most progressive and excellent designers of a heritage Parisian label.

b Store Moves to Kingly Street from Savile Row

I was wandering around west central London on Sunday, waiting for Brad to finish work, when I fell upon the new b Store that has moved from Savile Row to Kingly Street, W1. Although the move is not far, about 5 mins walk from the end of Savile Row, across Regent Street and down one of the many side alleys. The store celebrates its 10th anniversary and to mark this momentous occasion - momentous because the store is and has been so influential within menswear - the b Store team decided to move to this new location.

The store, as you can see, is very fresh and organic and showcases the established b Store brand along side their eclectic variation of their brands, as well as books, furniture and products. The paired back wooden floor looks perfect with the stark white walls of set with the pebble grained concrete. It is very natural looking and that's what I like about the store, this sense of the natural that is accentuated with the quite kitch plants interspersed around the store. I think the geometric furniture design infuses this sense of cleanliness and is also practically sound to present the collections and products, despite being a little crude in construction. Never the less, this sense of the DYI is an artistic but great nod to the austere.

Percival London Pop-Up Store

London has not seen a pop-up shop for a little bit, and with news this week menswear coverage and awareness has developed faster than the same time frame, Percival's Christmas Pop-Up Shop comes at the perfect time.

Running until the 21st December, the Percival brand is a contemporary menswear label, that puts emphasis on British-made quality workmanship, timeless styling and clever detailing over trend-led, disposable fashion. The label have achieved a sense of playful adventure within their designs, and I think the cerise tribal printed, olive shawl neck jacket below is a great example of this ethos. I think this is an incredibly exciting pop-up store which is based in Covent Garden, a great area that hosts some commercial yet very edgy and cool brands. It houses an exclusive edit of their limited edition garments – including rare fabrications, playful contrasted linings, buttons and unexpected colours for an undertone of the eccentric British gentlemen. What's more, the interior of the store reflects Percival’s unique brand aesthetic and famed attention to detail that favours the timeless over the faddish.

Unfortunately I can not get our to the store today, but friend of the brand, TV presenter Rick Edwards will be working the tills from 2pm. Now that should be fun...

I was acquainted with Murdock London after their presence at the Tweed run the other week. LA Diary: Riviera Club

I blogged briefly about Riviera Club a while ago, giving some images from their AW11 collection but frankly, it's time to give them a proper introduction to the UK/Europe. Also, as this is the LA Diary, and introduction to some Angelians who may have never heard of the brand. This montage - made by LSoD - is their SS12 collection which looks incredibly LA but also nods towards the nautical and festival looks that we see in summer too. The printed shorts are great, and dare I say fun, but the over all cut of the garments is what makes the brand distinctive, referencing their roots and also the carefree attitudes of the consumer it attracts. Riviera Club was one of the GQ America's Designer's to Watch 2011 entrants which raised their profile further but having seen their exclusive list of stockists, its about time to get them stocked in London, mainly because it's easier for me to buy then. The collection is not expensive but is at the upper end of the price range for relaxed casuals and well cut smarter pieces. This is a very progressive and zeitgeist brand which is worth investing in.

Riviera Club is rresolutely inspired by California’s past, creating eminently wearable clothing for the casual gentleman of our time, they say. It is iinfluenced by the ineffable aura of West Coast coolness, the collection is timeless and classic. With this liesurely inspiration in mind, it is unsurprising to say that it was cconceived on a golf course by three friends, Joe Sadler, Greg Ullery and Derek Buse. Since their debut collection in Spring/Summer of 2010, Riviera Club has continued to find inspiration deeply rooted in California’s eclectic history. With the launch in 2009, the three designers honoured the 'Divine Prince of Decadence', surf legend Bunker Spreckels and traced his life through each design, interpreting his life through colour and texture. Now you can't get more Californian than that...

But since then Riviera Club has drawn from 1950’s California sports clubs, the ruggedness of the Sea of Cortez. This AW11 collection, above, pays homage to California’s historical wine culture and honouring the harvest and the humble farmer. I think the presentation, which took place in New York, was a highly creative but paired back approach to a small show, idealising the Californian approach of bringing together friends in a relaxed setting to see what is an LA brand through and through.

The trend for the tribal pattern continues and The Good Flock is a fresh and ethical company new and exclusive to ASOS. They have dropped now - or preferably dropped in under my Christmas tree - The Good Flock has produced these handcrafted wallets, i-Pad and i-Pod accessories using premium leathers and virgin Pendleton felted wools. I love that they come in a variety patterned fabrics which makes each piece unique looking and have a contemporary yet timeless feel. What's more, they range at a very accessible £30-55, which I think makes these one of the hottest piece of affordable luxury around.

b Store AW11 x 10th Anniversary Editon

If you have ever passed a low-level store on Savile Row before the corner of Conduit Street, then you would have passed b Store, one of the most influential boutiques in London. With collaborations with Liberty of London this season, as well as being involved with various projects since their beginnings. The b Magazine, published next Monday - December 12th - the fifth issue also coincides with the tenth anniversary of the b Store.

In this special issue, entitled 'Push It Real Good, the store is feeling a little nostalgic as the store moves out of Savile Row and sets up its new home on Kingly Street, W1, not too far from its current location. The journalist Ben Perdue went to speak to some of b Store's associates including the PR legend Mandi Lennard (former PR to Gareth Pugh, Henry Holland) the designer Roksanda Ilincic and the gallerist Maureen Paley, and reflects on a decade under the influence of the b Store.

Also in this issue, the Observer’s Eleanor Morgan meets the restaurateurs and chefs behind some of London’s most exciting - and bizarre - eating experiences from noodles made by foot in Soho to pigs heads in Shoreditch. Bally Scribe Made-to-Order Cigar Humidor

Menswear and its acessories are often full of 'wow' moments and this would be one of them. Bally, the luxury Italian shoe brand, has launched this Scribe made-to-order Cigar Humidor that is limited to 100 boxes. Now, I am not a smoker but have enjoyed the odd cigar when awfully inhebriated but, having this around the house would make anyone consider reaching for a Cuban.

Available from mid-December, they are handcrafted from Sri Lankan Macassar Ebony, fitted with a humidification regulator and digital thermohygrometer (try saying that after a few Brandy's) and are, of course, individually numbered. This Saturday was my first weekend of Christmas shopping and I headed to Bath, in the South West of England to go on a part buying/part recky mission. Bath is such a beautiful city, steeped in history and heritage, the yellow Bath stone fronting the low rise buildings - old and new - with an overarching sense of exclusivity that the whole city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the Florence of England, in my eyes, and is also home to the UK's only dedicated Fashion Museum, a lasting message that retains the fact that Bath was one of the world's most important fashion centres, favoured by the famous 5th Duke of Devonshire and his infamous Duchess, Georgina.

After getting some presents and having a huge lunch at Yo Sushi, I thought to treat myself with a Cire Trudon candle. I have long wanted to buy one but could often not justify the price tag however beautifully made and presented they are. I was not aware that they were available outside the key retailers in London, but passing Blakes on Bridge Street - a bridge made up of stores and cafes - I thought it could be a Christmas present to myself. The stunning store and experience was made even better by the jovial and knowledgeable lady that served me. They are also the only stockists in the south west and south of England, and I understand, one of three outside of London.

I chose the Roi Soleil, the fragrance of the Mirror Gallery and the vast wooden floor of the Chateau de Versailles, vapours of wax, candelabras and palace. It blends a green and wooden take of coniferous trees to incense and citrus which is just an incredible combination and masculine, but at the same time utterly luxurious.

Cire Trudon is a French company steeped in history, having been founded in 1643 by Claude Trudon on the Rue Saint-Honore in Paris and became a supplier of candles to the court of Versaille in 1687 until the overthrow of the monarchy. From then, they supplied Emperor Napolion Bonapart and the aristocracy and has since then been a favourite of smart people since then. Although there are more well known candle makers, Cire Trudon is unrivalled. Here at LSoD, we love Lanvin, not just because it is headed up by Alber Elbaz - who is a lively and fun loving character but because it produces clean and simple, yet luxurious, clothes and accessories. For Christmas this year, they have produced this fantastic video that splices together the traditional and the modern. Cue a club beat base under toned by a Christmas sparkle and the result is a mix of men's and women's wear showcased at the holiday window at the 22 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore store.

I adore the Duck Egg blue bow-tie against the melange jacket, offset with the very desirable Duck Egg cotton rose tie pin. Tres chic, as Paris' oldest fashion house would say.

Although I tend not to do 'gift guides' - you all have great ideas of your own, and frankly, I have no idea what your dad/brother/boyfriend would like - but these would be on...

This is a fantastic photo shoot, no? From Common&Sense magazines Fall 11 Men's issue comes this energetic shoot from Christophe Kutner with all of the models, including LSoD favrouite Cole Mohr. In this, or what seems to be, a vintage 70s/80s American hedonistic youth story, all the guys are dressed in Diesels' Black and Gold label and I think the stand-out piece is the shearling collared coat, one below. Cole has this carefree, almost 'don't give a f***' look about him with a continuous mischievous smile. Fashion perfection...

It has just been announced that Marni, the Italian label founded in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni, is to be the next H&M designer collaboration for the high street brand on March 8th 2012. According to the announcement, 'the collection mixes Tribal prints with Bauhaus graphics in a playful, colourful way that catches the sporty but always so chic world of Marni'.

Now, that sounds like a bold collection and judging from the video released by H&M, the menswear is going to be a classic play of clean lines and a strong input of colour. The sandals are looking great - a mix of strong style and a muted sense of practicality. The fore mentioned Creative Director said, 'It is great to speak to a wider audience and in particular to the younger generations'.
