If you had ever visited the Royal Exchange in the City of London, you will know how grand and imposing the space is – becoming of the world’s most iconic centres of trade. Once home to a slightly confusing format of two restaurants, yesterday Fortnum & Mason opened as both a retail and restaurant within the vaulted space. This will be the fourth UK store for Fortnum & Mason, with a new destination restaurant – The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at The Royal Exchange holding court within the centre of the Exchange. The restaurant will sit up to 90 covers, allowing for both table and counter dining, with the ambiance will be one of understated sophistication, intimacy, and warmth, while the seasonal and contemporary menu will go from breakfast through to dinner – and the chance to sit down to a cup of their famous tea.
The selection of products available in the store reads an impressive list of classics, however they are pushing out the stops with a personal shopping service will be available to diners at The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant, while customers will also be able to shop online at fortnumandmason.com, and collect from Fortnum & Mason at The Royal Exchange.
