I had the absolute pleasure of recently being introduced to the Swedish menswear label A Day’s March recently (you can see the t-shirt here) at their London Soho store. I was impressed with the selection of tailored, casual pieces however really noticed one thing missing from the shelving; outerwear.
Dropping today, perfect for the cold snap which has arrived in the UK today, the label is keeping to its capsule mentality with just two styles; The Car Coat and The Classic Wool. The latter (below) is based on the traditional single breasted overcoat, constructed using a two-tone twill. Falling at knee-length, the garment has a boxy waist for a less tailored, relaxed fit in keeping with contemporary menswear shapes. The former (above) has been created in two wool blends, selected due to their lightweight yet warming qualities. Available in either a forest green hopsack or a charcoal herringbone, the pieces have a subtle A-line silhouette, fall just above the knee and feature two deep welt pockets.
Both styles have been produced in partnership with the fine tailoring brand Bortex founded in the 1960s, and are available from the London store on Berwick Street, Soho, W1 and online – with prices at £265 for the Classic Coat and £275 for the Car Coat. Sleek, simple and either will last you for many-a-winter to come.
