It is that time of the year when people return to college, university or are back to work after the summer break – tough, I know. For me, one the joys of a new start is new stationary and I was kindly sent, by Pen Heaven, two of the best names in penmanship; Caran D’Ache & Leuchtturm 1917. When they arrived both were embossed which was an amazing surprise and really add’s to the ‘wow factor’ within the office…it is always good to make a professional statement of intent.
The flow and feel of the rollerball pen from Caran D’Ache is superb and light. If you are not aware of the brand, it has been located in Geneva since its inception in 1915, with the Maison committed to creating and developing writing and drawing instruments combining the finest materials with the most advanced, innovative skills. Known for their luxurious pens which retail for upwards of £300, the ‘849’ collection is far more accessible at £20 yet does not compromise on quality and craftsmanship. I chose the black edition, however they have a whole rainbow of shades which is fabulous!
The notebook is from the Rolls Royce of notebooks; Leuchtturm 1917. Founded in 1917, Leuchtturm can look back on over 90 years of experience in the production of high-quality stationery. The company was re-established in Hamburg from 1948 yet from the 1960s, the company’s international expansion continued apace, culminating in the company becoming the world’s leading supplier of postage stamp and coin albums. Quite the claim to fame but their quality is superb.
