Having supported Thomas Knights’ Red Hot exhibition last year ahead of its exhibition launch in London during December 2013, it is incredible to see this project grow. After receiving global coverage and acclaim well ahead of the debut in East London, the launch was highly attended – I unfortunately missed it due to a well needed break in Sitges – and now, photographer and filmmaker Thomas Knights has launched a KickStarter campaign for the Red Hot large scale coffee book. It looks at the hottest 100 red-headed guys from all over the world, many of who have suffered prejudice or discrimination as a direct result of their red hair. Next to each portrait is a personal quote, adding a layer of heart, humour and triumph to their beautiful image. To give the scale of his project, the London exhibition reached over the £5,000 target and was shared on BuzzFeed 19,000 times and re-Tumbled by 40,000 on Tumblr.
Yes, I donated last night which means if the project is fully funded by May 25th, I will be receiving a book, signed by Thomas Knights and my name in the book as a contributor to the campaign. Exciting times, particularly when it includes the Danish model Kenneth Beck, above.
Want to be part of this very exciting project? Head over to the Red Hot KickStarter page and contribute from £15 which gets your name credited in the book, which should be delivered in September this year.
