Whilst London and the whole country  found itself in the midst of a superb but horrendous storm, it was quite apt I had been transported to the rugged coast of Northumberland last Thursday. In the middle of Marylebone, I visited the new Jo Malone house, a stunning stucco fronted building which was decorated to give an essence of the new fragrance; Wood, Sage and Sea Salt. Arriving into boutiques and stockists in September, this premiere truly unisex fragrance is inspired by the Great British beach, does not include a hint of floral as Master Perfumer Christine Nagel noticed that there were no flowers by the English coast.

Instead, the salty spray that hits your face, the mineral texture of the sand and rock together with the scent of driftwood and earthiness of sage makes up this truly fresh and invigorating new fragrance. Thank you Jo Malone for the hospitality (guests were treated to a sea-side inspired lunch, as well as a sweet stall) and of course, for this deliciously smelling cologne.
