With Valentines Day only 4 days away, a fragrance is a perfect gift that targets the emotions; and perfectly Hugo Fragrances has just launched its Hugo Man EDT Music Limited Editon. For this, Hugo has collaborated with three up and coming artists – Kate Boy, Kasper Bjørke and Nina Kraviz – to reshape famous classic recordings for the new fragrance. Each artist has selected a track which they have turned upside down to create an innovative cover. The result is a unique set of tracks that embody originality and the power of reinvention, and with each bottle comes with a download code which can be redeemed on the Hugo Boss site to get the three exclusive tracks.
Now, boys this is the perfect fragrance to try before Valentines Day to drop some hints, and girls – this is the perfect gift for your man. Hugo Fragrances are one of the top sellers at Valentines Day, and throughout the year because of the invigorating and fresh notes of the fragrance, which I know involves specialist and expert research and formulation. This fresh fragrance contains fruity top notes of green apple, complimented by woody base notes of pine needles, sandalwood and cedar wood, creating a truly modern blend that is as relevant today as it was when it launched – for the man who wants to live life on his own terms, believing that rules are made to be challenged and personal potential should be explored to the maximum.
Like the sound of it? Hugo Man EDT 75ML Music Ltd Edition is priced at £37.00 and is available nationwide at Boots stores and online at Boots as well. This really is a great Valentines Day gift.
HUGO has had a long standing connection to music. The HUGO Tracks project, celebrates contemporary musicians who are as progressive, creative and individual as the HUGO brand itself, featuring bands and acts who are currently reinterpreting their musical roots in electronic music. Having previously worked with the brand on HUGO Tracks, the artists have all been selected to collaborate with HUGO Fragrances for this exciting new project. Above is a focus onto Copenhagen based Kasper Bjørke, who is a producer and DJ who has positioned himself as one of the most renowned and versatile Danish contributors to the international electronic music scene. This guy is achingly cool. As a DJ, he has performed countless times in legendary clubs and festivals around the world. He is currently recording material for his fourth solo album which will be released in 2014. He says, “I constantly try to develop and refine my own sound when I make music. To me it’s not that interesting to sound like someone else. It’s OK to be inspired or to interpret others, but you should always seek your own sound, your own expression in what you do.” Wow, what a visionary of groundbreaking Scandinavian music.
‘Bette Davis Eyes’ by American singer Kim Carnes was Kasper Bjørke’s choice for his “upside down track”. Having always been inspired by 1980s music, he chose this particular track as he found it to be a universal song that a lot of music fans have a relationship with. Kasper has been DJing his own re-edit of the original in clubs for years so he took the opportunity to give it his own signature sound but also salute the original. Kasper invited his close collaborator Jacob Bellens to sing on the track (Bellens has written songs with Kasper for years on his two previous solo albums).
