LFW AW12 Menswear Day - Topman Design

With David Gandy, Amir Khan, Ronnie Wood, Philip Green, Emilia Fox and Freddie Fox - Topman Design was packed to the Royal Opera Houses rafters with British musical, sporting and acting talent.

The inspiration for the collection came from the dark yet sensual stance of a young Patti Smith and photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Its inspiration stretches to the sinister and rebellious soul of a boy wandering the streets of Kreuzberg - one of the best known areas of Berlin.

Tight, skinny and black, the collection looked at using fine gauge knits and lurex tops underneath asymmetric zip jackets and double breasted suits. Also, as you can see the accessorising is done with belting for a more Edwardian look.

Loved the Mr Porter models who were giving out the new Mr Porter post - a newspaper which celebrates their first Birthday. As this was being taken, the rain started to come down and up went - yes, Mr Porter umberellas!
