Last week LSoD ventured to the City of Angel’s for the opening of the Vivienne Westwood boutique on Melrose Avenue in WeHo (West Hollywood). The most creative forces in LA were out for the launch, as was, naturally, Dame Vivienne looking stunning as always.
The store was under much intrigue as to when it would open – starting with rumors it would before Christmas, and then every month since then. But the shop does not disappoint, particularly with the awesome neon sign that sits outside – a bigger version of the one in the window at Conduit Street, London.
The store will offer Vivienne Westwood’s full range of products, including Westwood’s Gold Label, Red Label, Anglomania, MAN Collection as well as jewellery and accessories. Spanning three floors, the boutique’s sophisticated décor remains consistent with the aesthetic of Vivienne Westwood’s international locations. If you have ever been in any of the London stores, they are quite decadent in a quiet, discreet way and Inspired by quintessential Parisian hotels, including Hotel George V and the Ritz. Being in LA, of course, the building is eco-friendly and features architectural elements of wood, brass and European stone.
A few of the celebrities that rocked up to the event included Lupe Fiasco in Vivienne Westwood Man Label archive shirt and Marilyn Manson (ex-husband of fellow guest Dita Von Teese) wearing Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Autumn- Winter 2011/12.
Andreas, Creative Director of the brand said, ‘We are thrilled to finally open our new shop in Los Angeles. We have fond memories of our time there and especially love the influence of Old Hollywood. Vivienne’s designs speak to this timeless sentiment; we look forward to opening our doors to our existing clients and introducing the brand to a new customer base.’
