As you may have heard or read in the news, Wednesday was quite an eventful day, most notably due to the student riots in Westminster, London. The centre of that event was Millbank Tower – home of the Conservative HQ – which also was the venue for the Company magazine Style Awards – for which, unsurprisingly, was postponed. I was going as a guest of Bryan Morel PR, who represent some incredible clients such as Oliver’s People’s, John Rocha and (for womanswear) Osman yet we opted for the Ralph Lauren event instead, celebrating 10 years of digital innovation, and the launch of the UK e-commerce site.
Attended by Ralph Lauren’s son David, Arnaud Bamberger; CEO of Cartier, Jefferson Hack; Editor in Chief of the Dazed Group as well as a smattering of familiar faces, we enjoyed champagne accompanied by delectable salmon or moused canapes, as well as some tasty mini-macaroons. After the drinks reception we congregated outside to view the most amazing, inspiring launch London has seen for a long time.
New Bond Street was closed off and the building’s windows were sealed over as to block out the space. To a fanfare, we were treated to a 4D – which after Google’ing it, I still have no idea what it is – presentation which these are some of the stills I took – and below is the official Ralph Lauren video.
Enjoy and be prepared to be impressed.
