After news that the late Alexander McQueen is set to launch underwear lines, this week, I can put some images to the tantalizing collection that is set to launch in June.
So, there is a basic line which will simply be coloured boxer shorts, briefs and vests, and sleepwear and loungewear, a seasonal fashion range and swimwear. Before his untimely death earlier this year, McQueen was working on a a collection of boxers and briefs that featured his signature skull prints as well as the feathered print that was seen in his final menswear show.
Starting at £35 - for a the basic boxer short - going up to £370 for a silk PJ set, the ranges packaging will, as you can see, have black and white images of mens torso's and the first collection will feature a red skull boxer in aid of several worldwide AIDS charities.
The range will be distributed by Albisetti SpA which has deals for the swimwear and underwear ranges for John Galliano, Roberto Cavalli and Jil Sander. But this range will be available at the official McQueen website , Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols from June.
Not only do I love the range - my collection of Dolce and Gabbana underwear is vast but needs something equally as nice to compliment them - they are not out of the way in terms of price but they will become collectors items too.
