YMC Works It Well at My-Wardrobe

Here at LSoD, I love My-Wardrobe and thats why I was disappointed not be be able to attend their S/S10 press day but I have received word of their new brand acquisitions.
Due to consumer demand, My-Wardrobe will include Farhi by Nicole Farhi, Phillip Lim and Aquascutum alongside brands such as Acne, Westwood and YMC - who's latest looks are below that encapsulate the brands aesthetic of labour-wear.

I really love YMC for its nod to the rugged masculinity of America, with a youthful sporty edgy twist. I agree the brand is not cheap but the quality of the products are amazing and always receive compliments.

I know it's getting near Christmas so why not try and win yourself a £500 winter wardrobe. Hurry, as there is only a day left so click here to enter.

Florian Pessenteiner for Jean Pierre Braganza

There are models, and there is Florian Pessenteiner. Origionally from Austria, he now lives in London and these are his latest shots for the Anglo/French designer Jean Pierre Braganza.

Braganza's latest collection is entitled “Psychadelatica” for S/S10, with these images from the look book being kindly sent to me by a member of his team.
The collection features a signature tee here which features the Psychadelatica image that opens up the portal to his idea on his website. Other pieces from the collection features a smattering of leather - which Braganza seems to favour - and a number of cropped jump suits, which are defiantly not for the fashion shy.

Jean Pierre Braganza has teamed up with designer Hannah Marshall for a pop-up shop sample sale in London. On now until December 23rd, there will be samples from current and past collections, as well as surplus stock from collections gone by.
There store is at 19 New Qubec Street, London, W1 - for opening times and more info click here.

A & G Rock Couture Rock London

It is, without a doubt, VERY Los Angeles but come Thursday A&G Rock Couture arrives in London.
A&G Rock Couture is the brainchild of Amal Guessous, which has been going for twenty years, with stores in New York, LA and Paris with the new boutique here run by his wife Lucy, who says, "Amel has single handedly kept Rock N' Roll clothing strong, with a huge following...".

I was flicking through their site and found these pieces that I would buy. I say buyable as I think this label has a very niche market, and has found it in Knightsbridge - just around the corner from Harrods.

All the pieces available are exclusive to the UK, when the store will open tomorrow with friends, customers and a smattering of celebs attending.

I don't know the price point, but I do like the bag the most...kinda cute in an A&G Rock n Roll way!

NOTE: I have deleted my original post in order to repost this to set the record straight. I wrongly said Regis Mijatovic was behind the label for which I apologies. It is in fact Amal Guessous along with his very supportive wife Lucy, and who have warmly invited me along to the opening event tomorrow.

Hop, Skip and a Jump for Gareth Pugh

It may only be all of 30 yards, but enfant terrible Gareth Pugh's move from Browns Focus to Browns is the biggest triumph yet.

Browns boutique on South Molten Street in London is the epitome of cool, which is owned by the legendary Mrs. B but it is buying director Erin Mullaney who has decided Pugh should switch stores.

This is such great news for Gareth, but not really for us guys as Browns will only be stocking his womenswear line, though much of his garb is unisex. I found his S/S10 collection in Paris this September absolutely incredible and completely wearable which has not been the case the past. I noticed he has gradually become focused on this for his past four seasons, but I still love his sense of humor in some pieces.

In the mean time, click here to view a great selection of Christmas gifts from Browns.

The Hills are Alive with Henry Holland

News has reached me that London designer du jour is to be portrayed in a new tv series, similar to MTV's The Hills.

Produced by Endemol, Henry will be played by a character called 'Cooper' - a girl, much to his dismay. It is thought the show will touch on his early life in Lancashire, his beginnings at Bliss magazine and his success within the fashion industry.

But just how far will this portrayal go; big hair? model best friend? I don't know yet, but one thing I hope will shine through is his fierce and playful personality. We shall see...

Raf Simons at the AMA's

A while back, me and Hunter from The F-A-D blog were lusting over the slightly rediculous but utterly fierce Raf Simons winged boots below.

Available from Browns Fashion, the boots are reduced from £855 to £430. Quite a good saving eh? I wonder if apl.de.ap from the Black Eyed Peas took advantage of this discount, as he wore the boots to the AMA's on Sunday.

Im not sure if this is the greatest look on the carpet, but its great to see Raf Simons getting some incredible exposure in the States, where the London aesthetic is slowly making head-way in places outside of New York.

Aren't they all the conceptual artists, in more ways than one?!

Christmas on the Rich Side...

Every year I have a puzzling dilemma; what do I buy my dad? I know I am not alone, but what do you buy a man who, if you will forgive the cliche, has everything. Cashmere socks? Not his thing. An Hermes tie? He doesn't wear a suit. A Tom Ford fragrance? He has been wearing the same eau de toilette since the 1960s.

As this year maybe the toughest yet for everyone financially, the majority of people will be turning to places such as eBay - who this week crashed due to consumer demand - to look for special items at a bargain price.

However, if you have everything, and cost is no object, the perplexing choice of gifts can be equally as tricky. And from this quandary came two wealthy anonymous visionaries who set up Bokks London , a gift service that is tailor-made and as personal as it gets.

Starting at £250 - finishing at whatever you wish to indulge - packages are personalised to the person in mind, and come in the stunning designed boxes, delivered by Neil Barrett clad Bokks-Hop boys and girls, above.

To add to the luxurious and exclusive aesthetic of the company, Bokks London has the Kaiser, Karl Lagerfeld, and acting legend Dustin Hoffman as ambassadors. Now there are not many companies that can boast such credentials! On top of this, over 100 luxury brands have signed up to be come part of the Bokks London package, including Dior, Smythson and Christian Louboutin.

If Bokks London have not come up with something that ticks the sUper rich Bokks, then what else are the billionaires giving each other?

Reports from Harrods have surfaced that the interest for the Chanel Premier 18ct white-gold watch has gone through the roof, and staggeringly so at a little over £29,000. A unique collection of 70 Cartier one-off designs from £250,000 or Hermes letting you loose with a selection of leathers and shades to produce your own Constance bag may appeal to a very niche market.

A trend has emerged through personalisation, whether it be adding initials to a purple mock-crock Aspinal of London passport holder
, for £10, bumping up the price to a bargain £27.50 or a Moda Creative personalised alphabet art print for £35.

Bag designer Anya Hindmarch is quoted in this weeks Sunday Times Style as saying, "The term luxury is so overused, but I think you can definatly say something is luxury when it is completely personalised".

As the saying goes, 'how the other half live' if my other half lived like this, buying for my dad this year would not be a problem.

Topman Luxury

There are times, especially at Christmas, that we need a little bit of luxury and comfort. Yes, an Hermes HAC 50cm would be incredible, which I would find myself very comfortable it seeing as I could probably fit in one!

But one place you wouldn't expect to find some seriously stylish, luxe is Topman but it seems they have come through with these pieces. I am starting Christmas shopping next weekend, so obviously I need a shopping look.

For those a little bit PC than myself - I have a small thing for fur - here is a faux fur trapper hat.

Need something to stash those goodies up to your hiding place? This Topman Design grey flannel holdall is pretty damn smart for a snip of the Bill Amberg alternatives.

Now, I have enough coats but I can see this flying off the shelves as it is simple, super stylish and full of 1920s nostalgia. The MJOLK herringbone coat is perfect for an afternoon around a cold and wintery town shopping. I really like the four-block button detail and wrap belt, as well as the cut.

One coat I will defiantly be putting on my own list is this, exclusively for Topman by Anthony Price. The collection has not been released that long and is fast selling out. I called Topman in Oxford Street, London a few days ago but they were low on my size but as I am away I will see if they have it in a store here. I was advised that the sizing comes up big...so if you are a medium, go for a small for a really good fit.

This is just divine, the charcole fur collard overcoat, and below is how it should look on.

It seems the above image is without the fur detail collar, but it is stunning never-the-less.

Santa Baby...

Ahhh, isn't this just awesome?! I am looking for little gifts this year and I found these online at Liberty of London

A fabulous bit of fun for under £10...What's your plan this Christmas to be gorgeous?

Christmas at Smythson

It must be Christmas as today THAT Coke-a-Cola advert started airing on tv. "Holidays-are-coming, holidays-are-coming..." you know the one that brings out your inner child.

The ever so lovely people over at Smythson of Bond Street are adding to the Christmas cheer by offering complimentary postage and packaging on all orders over £75 received before midnight (London Time) on Sunday 22nd November.

I was flicking through their site, and spotted these two gems. The things I buy for free postage and packing!

Classic engraved travel wallet with embossed clasp - £354

Red Viana calf leather with two embossed pockets for a passport and boarding pass - £95

All Waxed Up!

Jake, one of my readers from London, spotted me out and about today in town wearing a Belstaff waxed jacket loaned from my friend. We started chatting about winter jackets, and talk came to Barbour.

Once the choice coat of HM the Queen, aristo's and country types but Barbour has seen a revial of late with celebrities and style followers adpoting the brand. No longer are they covered in mud and dog hair, teamed with wellies and a checked shirt but skinny jeans, biker boots and a Comme des Garçons shirt.

I spotted the perfect Barbour at the My-Wardrobe.com A/W10 press day a few weeks ago. The International Trials Jacket is sUper warm, loaded with pockets and has a really flattering cut.

What's more, Barbour is a British brand that is based in my old-stomping ground, the North East. The factory in South-Tyneside now turns over £65 million - all thanks to recent celebrity endorsement and the hottest fashionisto's continuing to fly the British-made flag.

Are you a British Barbour?!

Gucci: The Film

She is loved for her lips, her gaggle of multi-cultural children and, most importantly, her husband but Angelina Jolie may soon be worshiped by fashion lovers world over.

For director Ridley Scott, who has confirmed today that he will direct a new Gucci biotopic, is strongly hinting that Mrs. Brangelina will take the lead role. How exciting!
If true, she will play the role of Patrizia Reggiani who was convicted for ordering the killing of her ex- husband Maurizio Gucci in 1995.

Can't you just see her playing the femme fetale with that woman-scorned look in her eyes?! She would be perfect!

Long before Tom Ford came to the helm and turned the company from a fashion freak into style supremo, the Gucci's were notorious for their feuds. During the 1980's, a family member is rumored to have been knocked unconscious by a flying answering machine during a meeting, while Paolo Gucci - cousin of Patrizia's husband - reported his own father, then head of the company, for tax-evasion.

I read the biographical book The House of Gucci by Sara Gay Forden a few years ago and found it very heavy going - it is more academic than entertaining. It is a great insight into the house of Gucci, the family and shocking scandal that plagued it.

Oh my gawd, I hope she get the role as I can imagine it nothing but incredible with her taking the lead role.

Hedi Slimane/VMAN

I think these pics speak for themselves! There is no doubting the eye of Hedi Slimane and talent of Nicola Formichetti as a stylist. These have not long been released - hours more than days- and will appear in VMAN magazine.

That publication just gets hotter and hotter!

Christian Cooke

Jamie Campbell Bower

Alex Pettyfer

Douglas Booth

Thomas Sangster

The shoot is about the new generation of British actors...all beautifully shot and represented. Do you remember Alex Pettyfer when he was younger? He shot to fame in the kids spy film, Stormbreaker and my, my how he has grown up! Keep an eye out for these guys over the next few months!

Alex-bargain McQueen

Embroidered Kori Shoe

Vulcan Trainer Boot

So0o it is still blowing a gale and raining like a waterfall, so I took to some internet shopping this afternoon to wile away time. I was flicking though my usual favorites until I got an email from Brand Alley, a discount-store site that has sold everything from Gucci sunglasses to Prada fragrances.

This time they are doing an incredible offer on Alexander McQueen for Puma, and these are the two styles I love the most. OK, so the first is for women, but really...they are unisex. I love the embroidered herringbone detailing that can work with a simple pair of jeans, or worn in the summer with some city shorts and a tee.
The other are high-topped trainer boots...and I have a thing with high-top sneakers. Unfortunately they do not have them in my size (que search on ebay) but these are great with some straight-legged jeans and a vest for a casual night out.

Brand Alley is really worth signing up to...they do a mix of mens and womenswear so its perfect for some Christmas shopping at a discount!

Electric Youth Magazine

EY! MAGATEEN 5 from Luis Venegas on Vimeo.

If you have not come across Electric Youth magazine yet, then I'm sure this video will make you drop everything and hop-foot it down to your nearest Urban Outfitters for the latest issue.

The man behind the super-sexy plan is Luis Venegas, a former art director who, like most of the fashion set, is fixated on raw-talent from the streets of Europe. One notable subject in past issues is Pelayo who looked incredible jumping up and down on a bed, looking like he enjoyed every second of the shoot.

Unfortunately, the Electric Youth site is down at the moment, but a simple google will bring up a host of images to lust over ::ahem::...i mean take inspiration from.

In the mean time, it's 20 mins until X-Factor, so, excuse me...
