Sex and the City, Gossip Girl and Ugly Betty are all set in the the city where fashionistas retreat to for some style therapy. Yet, up and down Fifth Avenue the fashion pack are seething from the news that they are well…no longer fashionable.
According to The Global Language Monitor (GLM), New York is now the second fashion capital of the world, falling behind Milan.
Further more, it seems London is also falling far behind in fifth place behind Paris and Rome.
The report bases its findings on money and due to the global recession cities that had larger retail spending habits are no longer so prosperous. I find it a shame that businesses such as these conclude their results on economic factors and not merit, otherwise London would probably trump the lot of them!
